Piol's Journey With Wanderers

Updated: Mar 15, 2023

At the conclusion of last season, Ariath Piol decided to move from Adelaide to Sydney and after a trial with Western Sydney Wanderers, he was signed by the club for their NPL team.

Ariath made his senior debut as a 16 year old at MetroStars in 2021, and played 51 matches and scored 10 goals over the past two seasons.

18 year old Ariath has enjoyed his transition to an A-League club environment.

"My time here at WSW has been unreal to be honest, the facilities and resources we have here are unbelievable and it makes coming in everyday to training so exciting," said Ariath.

The Wanderers were promoted to the New South Wales National Premier League for the first time in 2023.

"This is the teams first year in NPL1 and it’s almost a brand new squad compared to last year so we have unfortunately begun slower than we intended but we’re a young ambitious group and haven’t felt hard done by recent results because we have been well in contention in each game." said Ariath.

Ariath made his debut in Round 1 against Central Coast Mariners, making it a memorable occasion by scoring on debut in the 10th minute in their 3-1 victory.

Ariath has played all six matches for the club this season, scoring in the club's big 3-2 victory over Sydney Olympic.

The future is bright for the young former MetroStars player, who will be aiming to impress and possibly get a game in the A-League.

"I’m looking forward to what the future holds but I can only focus on taking it day by day, God will take care of the rest."

Good luck Ariath!
