Football SA to honour Nathan Day
North Eastern MetroStars would also like to congratulate Nathan Day on his nomination for Life Membership of Football South Australia for his outstanding contribution to football in the state.
The exciting attacker made his senior debut in 1992 for the now defunct Enfield City. In his first season he scored 7 in goals in 17 appearances. From there Nathan moved to West Adelaide to play in the National Soccer League where he made 18 appearances. He also represented Sydney United and Adelaide City in the National League. Nathan joined MetroStars in 2001 under coach Mario Boffa. In his time at the club he would score an incredible 44 goals in 67 appearances and helped the club win the Minor Premiership and the Pre-Season Cup in 2003.
Day would then go onto spells with Adelaide Olympic, Modbury Jets and Para Hills Knights before finishing his career at Adelaide Comets.
Nathan scored an increbile 128 goals in 297 SA top flight appearances and is regarded by many as one of the most talented South Australian players.
