Former MetroStars junior called up for Joeys friendlies ahead of FIFA U-17 World Cup
North Eastern MetroStars would like to congratulate former junior player Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio on his call up to the Joeys squad ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio, now of the Adelaide United youth team, has been included in the squad having scored 12 goals in 16 games across all competitions in the National Premier Leagues - SA Reserves competition. He also featured in five games with the Young Reds in the National Premier League.
Lawrie-Lattanzio was part of MetroStars Shooting Stars and Miniroos program and played at the all the way up to Under 12's before being identified and selected for the Skillaroos and the FFSA NTC. Luis has since then progressed in the youth team at A-League side Adelaide United.
Shooting Stars Academy Director Ernie Luongo is very proud of Luis' achievements so far.

Australia’s U-17 Men’s National Team Head Coach Trevor Morgan today confirmed the 23 players that have been selected to travel to the United Kingdom in early September to play three important international friendlies ahead of this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The players father, Ercole Lattanzio, paid tribute to part the club played in Luis' development via social media.
"MetroStars was/is a perfect environment for junior players. A real focus on developing players of all abilities .Luis has many happy memories from his time there and ongoing relationships with past players and coaching staff."
Luongo added "He's a great talent and he has a chance to go very far".
